How Umumuisiaku Emerged Champions of Nze RA Oforma Unity Cup

A second half strike by Kingsley Olumba gave Umumuisiaku Football Team a 1-0 victory against rivals, Umueshi Football Team in the final of the 3rd edition of the Nze R.A. Oforma Football tournament decided sometime on January 5th, 2022 at the Primary School I field, Umumuisiaku in Ideato South LGA.

Favorites due largely to their vociferous home supporters, Umumuisiaku took the battle to the opponents from the blast of the whistle but we’re unable to break the deadlock due to a combination of their own poor marksmanship and resolute defending by Umueshi in the first stanza.

However, midway into the second stanza, Umueshi paid dearly for soaking in too much pressure when Olumba galloped over the crashing defense line to tuck in the only goal of the encounter.

During the presentation of prizes, Umumuisiaku were rewarded with a giant trophy and cash prize while Benedict Oforma from the same team emerged best player of the tournament.

Earlier, Amanato Football Team had walked over two-time runners up, Ugbele Football Team to pick the 3rd position.

Both the second and third placed teams also received their cash prizes on the spot.

Sponsor of the tournament, Chief Goodfaith Chibuzo Etuemena while appreciating the various teams for their performances, also announced the nomination of Amanato Community to host the 4th edition of the tournament which will kickoff in December, 2022.

A total of eight teams from the different communities that make up Umumaebenmanu in Ideato South LGA took part in the just concluded edition.
