..Urges Team To Sustain Tempo
The Executive Chairman, Imo Sports Commission, Prince Sir, Eleazar Onyewuchi Ogbonna “Ambassador” has hailed the consistence performance of Heartland Queens FC in their recent NWFL matches.
Prince Ogbonna who made commendation shortly after the teams second victory in the 2022/23 NWFL Premier female league matches against Osun Babes at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Wednesday expressed delight with the Girls consistency in their past 4 games in which they have won drawn 2 and won 2.
“Am very excited with the girls positive performance and these goes a long way to shoe that His Excellency’s support to the team is well appreciated.
“Am very optimistic that with more determination they can even make the play off at the end although it’s still too early but with the spirit the team is going at anything is possible.
“The Governor through the Sports Ministry has continued to show his love to better sports and athletes in the state and the Sports Commission is always ready to complement the the Sports Commissioner, Hon Emeka OKoronkwo.
“Let me congratulate the players and their officials for a job well done in this first stanza of the league and urge them not to relent in their efforts in other to take the tempo into the second stanza come February.
Two goals from attacking duo, Lucky Mary and lanky Orji Chizoba at the 6th and 16th minute was all the Owerri Land ladies needed to see off Osun Babes for the 3 points.
