Government of Imo State has assured that Dan Anyiam Stadium will certainly be ready for the CAF confederation cup games come March, 2013.
This assurance was made by the honourable Commissioner for Sports, Kenneth Emelu, on Saturday January 12, during a CAF inspection visit to the stadium.
Emelu, who anchored the inspection visit of CAF that was led by Ghanaian CAF Committee member, Fred Crentsil.
Although the CAF representative Mr Fred who is also the Chairman of the Ghanaian under 17 Association did not reveal his findings immediately, but the expressions on his face after the 2 hr inspection tour did indicate that the stadium will eventually host Heartlands CAF cup home games. He however told press men when questioned about his findings that CAF sent him to Nigeria to do an assignment and that CAF will be the first to know his findings.
On the construction and rehabilitation work that was abandoned at the Dan Anyiam for some months, the Commissioner promised that government will put everything in other saying that he can use any contractor to finish the work.
