_..Says, We Will Compete To Defend Our League Title_
Few days to the CAF Champions League game first leg qualifier for Enyimba Int’l FC of Aba, Coach Finidi George has expressed that his players will be ready for the battle in Benghazi, Libya.
Coach Finidi who made this assertion on Sunday after his teams 1-1 draw with Oriental brothers, Rangers Int’l FC of Enugu said the boys showed good intensity considering they are just about 2 weeks old with their preparations and expressed optimism that come 20 August, 2023 his team will be up to the contest against Al Ahli Benghazi in their first leg first round knockout game of the CCL.
“I like what I have seen. Rangers played so deep and looked difficult to break. We would work on the things that will make us faster and be ready for Benghazi.
“Uyo is treating us well and if we would play our continental games here, we hope to get all the support to enable us do Nigeria proud.
“Enyimba will compete to defend our title this new season and of course we would be the team to beat and we shall be ready for all competitions and hope to do well.
Goals in each half from Philip Clement (Rangers) and Joseph Atule (Enyimba) ensured that both sides could not be separated in the preseason game played at the Uyo Township Stadium as the NPFL Champions continued their preparations for the new season and particularly their CCL game against Al Ahli Benghazi on August 20, 2023 in Libya.
