The Chairman of Imo Sports Commission, Prince Sir Eleazar Onyewuchi Ogbonna “Ambassador” has commended the management, technical crew and players of Heartland Queens FC on their triumphant outing in the maiden edition of the South East Women Football Association SEWFA League Championship recently held in Owerri, Imo State.
Reacting on the teams very outstanding results all through the championship designed to help the girl child through sports (football in particular), Prince Ogbonna said the lofty idea and vision of SEWFA members in organizing the championship is indeed in line with his administration’s plans for sports development and that of His Excellency, the Governor of Imo, Senator Hope Uzodinma through his Shared Prosperity programme.
He observed that the technical crew rightly used the tournament to test their new acquisitions as well as incorporate them into the team ahead of the new season hailing them for maintaining the winning spirit of the Governor by displaying class in their victorious outing.
Prince Ogbonna who is currently finalizing the traveling papers of the selected Imo Sports Commission Talent Hunt/Heartland players for the Valencia Football professional exposure trip used the medium to further thank Governor Uzodinma for his commitment and support to youth development through sports by providing conducive environment for the athletes and creating Programmes to help their desire and dreams.
