The residents ofNwaorie StreetinOwerriMunicipality, whose houses were demolished, have accused Governor Okorocha of punishing them unfairly.
Speaking to Imo Trumpeta on the issue, one of the victims of the demolition exercise who gave his name as Chief Emeruike Eke alleged that his house was demolished without adequate compensation.
He said that the state government did not give them enough time to vacate the area adding that such time was insufficient for them to relocate to another place. He however maintained that the money given to them to erect new buildings was grossly insufficient, stressing that the governor will regret his action someday.
Contributing, another speaker, Dr Onuoha said that after their houses were demolished, they were compelled to pay N20, 000 and clearance for four years, noting that the government used them to achieve their to achieve their selfish aims and objectives.
He however stated that ever since their houses were demolished, their condition has deteriorated, while calling on well meaning individuals and the Federal Government to come to their aid.
