.May Spend Christmas in Police Net
The already approached festive season may be a sad one for two members of the Imo State House of Assembly who may likely spend their Christmas in Police Cell.
Except there are measures to avert the troubling situation, the two House members (names withheld) are said to be on the wanted list of police authorities in the state
Following the arrest of top government officials in the Imo State who were held behind bars for alleged involvement in land racketeering in Owerri, the state capital, revelations have it that few state lawmakers were also involved in the shady deals.
Despite being on break after passing the 2024 Appropriation Bill, the two lawmakers are to report to the police on invitation connected to their involvement in the land deals.
Trumpeta learnt that the governor who is piqued by the manner some of his aides embarked on the land racketeering is leaving no stone unturned at ensuring that those found wanting pay the price.
It was further learnt apart from serving the invitation notice, indications are high that the two involved may spend nights in police.
Going by the involvement of the lawmakers to the land deal that is causing ripples in government circles, the governor may not come to their rescue indicating that they may also spend days in cell like the other appointees who spent more than a week in custody.
Should the police treat the lawmakers the manner the aides of the governor was handled, family members may be forced to serve them Xmas dishes in cell.
