WILY WILLIE AND HIS OBSESSION WITH ENTRACO

When Honourable Anthony Anyaehie was appointed as the General Manager of the Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO) in Imo State, not a few people breathed a sigh of relief, given his background as not just a well-trained manager and transformational leader, but also as a compassionate and generous leader who insists on protecting the ordinary people and frowns against oppression of any kind.

A stickler to rules and order, Anyaehie, brought his wealth of managerial experience to bear in his handling of ENTRACO activities, but, the rot was deep. Even though, he tried to retrain members of the taskforce to ensure that they conform their operations to the standards of openness, legality and most importantly, guaranteed protection for human rights, there were moles planted within the commission to frustrate his efforts and ensure that he was removed as quickly as possible.

The existence of a powerful cabal, allegedly set up by the pioneer management of that commission has not been in doubt. Successive GMs of the commission have had to contend with this cabal. From sponsoring bad press against their activities to instigating members of the task force to carry out illegal operations that would cast the management in bad light, this cabal, suspected to be sustained by the pioneer GM, Chief Willie Amadi, had almost always succeeded in their ruinous agenda against the commission and the State.

In the last few days following the well-advised and tension dousing decision to suspend the activities of ENTRACO, Chief Willie Amadi has been all over the internet literally throwing a party, and casting misplaced aspersions on the management of the commission.

Treacherous men always create different but deceitful public images for themselves, to make the public see them better than who they truly are, but it doesn’t take a lot of time to open them up for the cancerous ulcer they are, if you have the skills to see deeper than what is presented.

Chief Willie Amadi’s best political outing in his controversy-riddled public service trajectory, is his appointment as the General Manager of the Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO), and he has never come over the reality of his disengagement from that position, even though, the public jury is almost unanimous in its appraisal of his performance as inhumane and rabidly abusive. The accusations of massive corruption and extortion by that commission under his watch is a matter that calls for a thorough investigation.

Ukwa Achi Na Aka, has not hidden his desire to return to the helms of ENTRACO, at any level. That is why, after alleged incessant importunities, the governor, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, appointed him as a Technical Adviser on Environment, a position, he failed woefully at proffering any workable solution to Imo’s environmental problems. It is believed that he was more interested in returning as GM of ENTRACO and did everything, allegedly, to undermine his younger brother, the current State chairman of the APC, who was then, the GM of ENTRACO.

Chief Amadi’s persistent and malignant media rascality against the current management of ENTRACO should be disregarded, because it comes from a place of disgruntlement rather than patriotism. His sabotage of environmental codes is evident in his subsisting legal troubles initiated by the agency over a series of actions perpetrated in his hotel that were deemed to be counteractive to environmental healthiness and orderliness. I do not expect his incessant attempts at distracting attention from his obvious lawlessness to stop ENTRACO from enforcing the law, no matter whose ox max be gored.
