Mazi Gburugburu Vindicates Bede Eke,As he declares for Senate and Guber Election
Ex Federal Lawmaker, and present Commissioner for Housing, Urban Development and New Cities, Imo State, Rt Hon Bede Eke is said to have been vindicated following his earlier stance regarding the political future of Dr Matthew Chima Amadi (Mazi Gburugburu).
It was learnt that Bede Eke on 18th, October, 2025, took a swipe on Dr Matthew Chima Amadi, urging him to declare publicly if he was vying for Senate or Governorship election.
Eke who accused Amadi of misleading the unsuspecting public, maintained that Amadi was only seeking Media attention to massage his ego, since he failed to have his way in the ruling party, APC.
It is now gathered, that five months after Bede Eke’s demand for Dr Amadi’s public declaration of exact position he is contesting for, the Campaign Organization of Dr Matthew Chima Amadi otherwise known as The Mazi Organization on Tuesday, 28th, April, 2026 while addressing a section of the Media at a Press Conference announced that its Principal, Dr Matthew Chima Amadi will contest both the Owerri Zone Senate seat and the Imo Governorship in 2027, describing the move as a calculated Political strategy tailored to the State’s unique electoral calendar.
Responding to the “The Mazi Organization” declaration, Rt Hon Bede Eke disclosed “I have been vindicated by the recent announcement made by Amadi’s Campaign Organization during a press Conference where they announced that he will contest both the Owerri Zone Senate and Guber election. This is the height of deceit in our political clime, how can one man arrogate to himself the Sole candidacy of Owerri Zone Senate ticket and Imo State Guber ticket Simultaneously? This is Political desperation at its height”
Continuing, Eke said, “the outcome of the National Assembly election in Imo State will shock Amadi” adding that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in Imo will win all National Assembly seats in the State adding that the outcome of the election will create significant tension in the opposition camp.
“The People of Ngor Okpala can longer be deceived by Amadi and his cohorts. Our people are enlightened, and have decided to support the aspiration and align with the political direction of Gov Hope Uzodinma in our bid to position our LGA greater opportunities”, he said.
Eke further advised that Amadi should save himself the shame of losing out in two different elections as he lacks the political capacity and will to wrestle power from highly experienced and grassroots politicians in Owerri Zone and Imo State in general.
“He should rather, see the 2027 electioneering as a political tutorial, if para venture he wishes to contest again come 2031, next year’s election is not for the “green horn”, Eke disclosed.
