The announcement was contained in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Eke Prince Micheal (Dunga), who also serves as the spokesperson of the Udo Na Oganihu Grassroot Movement (UNOGMOV).

According to the statement, the Ntu Unity Cup is designed to bring the various villages in Ntu together through football, while providing an avenue for young people to showcase their talents and for residents to enjoy sporting entertainment.

The statement noted that all necessary arrangements for the tournament have been concluded, adding that the competition has received the blessings and support of the traditional ruler of Ntu Autonomous Community, Eze Christopher Anaele, KSJ, Eze Oha Ntu III, and members of his cabinet.

It further stated that key stakeholders in Ntu, as well as well meaning sons and daughters of Ntu, have also given their blessings and support to the initiative. Among those who have expressed their support are the President-General and the Ward 1 Councillor, who is also of Ntu extraction.

The organisers have also assured participants and spectators of adequate security throughout the tournament. According to the statement, the football committee, headed by Mr Perry Agwulonu, a former Ntu football star, is working closely with security operatives to ensure a peaceful and secure competition.

The statement disclosed that 13 villages that make up Ntu will participate in the tournament, describing the competition as an opportunity for the various villages to come together in the spirit of sportsmanship, unity and healthy competition.

Comrade Ahizi urged well meaning sons and daughters of Ntu, both at home and in the diaspora, to support their respective villages and teams, stressing that such support would serve as a morale booster for the participating players and encourage them to give their best.

He also called on individuals and groups to support the tournament in any way they can, noting that collective participation and encouragement would contribute significantly to the success of the competition.

Meanwhile, as he celebrates his birthday, Comrade Ahizi Martins Udochukwu expressed appreciation to the traditional ruler, Eze Christopher Anaele, all the Nze’s, Ntu youths, members of the tournament committee and the entire good people of Ntu for their support and cooperation.
