Group Accuses Nigeria Automobiles Technicians Association NATA Chairman, Nnadi, of Plot to be Life-President.
Vows to Resist Lawlessness, Insist on Due Process.
The Chairman of Nigeria Automobiles Technicians Association, NATA,Imo State chapter, Mr Kyrian Nnadi has been accused of plot to remain in Office perpetually by allegedly manipulating the Association’s Electoral process and become a life President.
The Group warned that it will use every lawful means to stop Nnadi from having his way and remain in Office after being the Chairman for over Twenty Years and refused to comply with the provisions of the constitution by informing the Zonal Chapter in writing since the month of July his last tenure expired
The Group said a fresh election of the Association is billed to take place soon and alleged that Nnadi has said he cannot be removed from Office as he will use his power, contacts and connections to make sure he remains in office.
They said such act is an ” abberation as it is against the provisions of the NATA Association Constitution and it will be resisted by members of the Association in Imo State” one of the Leaders of the Group told Journalists.
The Group alleged that Nnadi was quoted to have boasted that he influenced the emergence of the Southeast Zonal President of the Association in the latest election and is now plotting to leverage on this to sit tight in Office in Imo.
” What we are calling for is due process and transparent election. Nnadi has over stayed in Office and should give others chance to try their hands. We need new Leadership and fresh Ideas to move NATA forward” they said.
Attempt to reach Nnadi by our Reporter proved abortive.
But a Source from NATA pleaded for peace and called all members to be calm as Nadi has pledged to obey NATA’s Constitution.
