The Imo State Bureau for Poverty Alleviation, in conjunction with Harmony Micro Finance Bank Limited, is set to commence a special poverty alleviation project tagged “Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s Special Poverty Alleviation Project”.
The project according to Nwosu Ndu Philips (JP), the Director of Administration and Finance, (DAF), Bureau for Alleviation, is a project that will give the downtrodden the ample opportunity to access interest free loan to the tune of N100,000 to be paid back within 11 months of accessing the loan with one month moratorium.
The project is run in the spirit of Rescue Mission Agenda of his Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, to alleviate and empower the downtrodden in the grassroot of the entire 27 Local Governments in the state, powered by Chief Cletus Okoro, Chief Executive Officer, Harmony Micro Finance Limited. The programme, he added, will be officially flagged off by Governor Okorocha next month.
He further disclosed that the forms are accessible at FCMB as well as Access Bank at the rate of N1,000, adding that the loan is a revolving loan that will come in batches.
