Following the action of the Director of Library Services Mr Ndukaku Chimezie during the failed evacuation of Library properties to a new site recently. The workers have expressed dissatisfaction and disappoint on their boss for not supporting their resistance and protest action against the state governor’s order.
Some of the workers who spoke to our reporter accused their Director of compromising. They wondered how/why a man in his position can not stand and fight to protect the interest o his subordinates, that of a monumental, fundamental and integral part of education in state that has education as its highest industry.
All the attacks on the Director, were as a result of his effort to persuade the workers to comply with the governor’s directives of moving to the new site. Why answering question from newsmen, the Imo Library boss revealed that he was given notice by the governor and as a Civil servant he should obey a governor’s directive.
Consequently, even some members of the public that came to the library to witness what was happening lambasted Chief Chimezie over alliance with the governor while berating the action of both the director and the governor.
