What Okorocha Should Do Now

May 27, this year will mark the end of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s four year tenure as the Governor of Imo State.
From may 27, 2015, Governor Okorocha if re-elected as the Governor of Imo State, will remain a Governor but if he chooses to aspire for a higher position or alternatively run and looses, then the above postulation of former Governor of Imo State sticks.
But long before now, Governor Okorocha because of his stance and opinion over “known leaders” in the state, has grossly been accused of playing up sycophants and mediocres which to some extent has reflected in poor performances in some of those sectors.
However, whatever is responsible for the Governor’s choice of such appointees should not worry anybody after all there is always reward for loyalty. Don’t forget that loyalty could be in many ways.
Be that as it may, it is strite wrong if what should earn somebody a position in government is dancing naked in the public without minding who and who is present at the arena.
What we would rightly suggest to Governor Okorocha now that he has left the half time of the match and getting to injury moment is to re-examine the abilities and capabilities of his aids with the view of playing this injury period with the right and rouged players if he really hope to win a medal at the end of it all.
The days of compensation and dribbling with the ball is over as anything short of scoring goals at this critical moment means nothing to the masses. A situation where petitions flood the government house from constituents of an appointee or nominee, calls for government re-think on such characters.
This is so because, going ahead to allow such persons to remain in government amounts to imposing somebody on the masses who ordinarily are the Governors my people, my people.
When this all important actions of the masses is ignored at any level, it gives the impression of an autocratic government which cares little or less about the views of the masses. The effect of that is that the sector or that tier of government would have started failing from its foundation since there is already lack of confidence and trust.
Simply put, no church or school operates without the congregation and pupils. So it is strite right and absolutely necessary for government to critically look at the various petitions against some of its functionaries so as to avoid promoting no do wells at the detriment of good governance.
Any APGA or APC loyalist of Governor Okorocha who at this injury period is still hoping to be compensated should have a re think of the realities on ground.
For our Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, it is important to remind you if you do not know that the game has entered the injury time and the best thing you should do for yourself, Imo people and posterity now is to bring in your best first eleven who will assist you in winning the laurels, sentiments apart.

Rejoinder: Samuelson Iwuoha And His Bad Examples

My attention has been drawn to the editorial column of White Paper Newspaper edition of Wednesday February 26th 2014, with the above caption. For the records, the publisher of the said Newspaper is Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, the man behind the X-RAY and “My Audacious SAM”. He is also SSA on Media to the Executive Governor of Imo State. The Editorial under Review criticized citizen Ikenna Samuelson Iwuoha for having the courage, boldness and temerity to write to EFCC to investigate the alleged fraudulent activities and corrupt practices at the office of the speaker of Imo State House of Assembly involving Mr speaker himself, Rt. Hon Benjamin Uwajumogu, his Chief of Staff (Mr. Kodichi Anamekwe) and the current SSA on Media Mr. Emeka Ahaneku. In as much as, I respect Sam Onwuemeodo as a person, he should not have brought or allowed himself to be ridiculed in the eyes of the public bearing in mind that he is the media Assistant to the Governor. I am still in shock that Sam Onwuemeodo, who has been preaching against corruption in high places will suddenly make U-turn to condemn a well known social crusader who exposed fraud at speaker’s office. As a media Assistant to the Governor, is he (Sam) implying that the Governor is in support of fraudlent Activities going on in speaker’s office. Is he (Sam) implying that an Aide of the status of Samuelson, a well known, No Nonsense, Activist who discovered fraud should keep quiet? The global community can testify that citizen Samuelson fought corruption to a stand still just few years ago. The global community also is aware that Citizen Samuelson, will not keep quiet once he discovers fraud of any kind and keep quiet even if his own father, mother, sister, children, wife and uncle are involved. Therefore, the global community will never forgive citizen Samuelson if he discovers fraud and decides to keep quiet. That is the part Samuelson has chosen period.
As media Aide to the speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, citizen Samuelson Iwuoha, returned unspent funds to his boss on several occasions. What was speaker Uwajumogu thinking of citizen Iwuoha, when he was returning unspent funds to him? Was he of the opinion that citizen Samuelson did not know what he was doing by returning those funds to him? Ikenna Samuelson, was simply demonstrating transparent leadership, followership and accountability, LIVE, on the speaker’s table or desk. Samuelson STOLE the show. No wonder the former Governor of Imo State, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim (Ochinanwata) described citizen Samuelson, despite what Samuelson did to him, as the MANDELA of Imo State. Also, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume described Samuelson as the conscience of Imo State. Prince Eze Madumere, the amiable Deputy Governor of Imo State described Samuelson as a great Son of the State. The Governor himself, his Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha, knows him as the fearless warrior. Dr. Orji Uzoh Kalu, the former Governor of Abia State described Samuelson as a man with a lion heart and with a granite determination. Even the speaker, knows that Samuelson is a warrior, especially when he is fighting corruption and fraudulent Activities. Now, what was Uwajumogu thinking when he was allegedly acquiring with fraud money those properties with Samuelson at close range to him?
A well respected writer from Imo State, Mr. Kenneth Uwadi had sometime ago accused Mr. Speaker Uwajumogu of fraud and using proceeds of the fraud to acquire choice properties.
Uwajumogu on his own personally challenged Kenneth Uwadi and indeed any other person to prove the allegations. Unfortunately for the speaker, Citizen Ikenna Samuelson has stepped out boldly to write EFCC and listing the properties acquired by the speaker with a clincher: “I shall be ready to go to jail with hard labour, if I fail to prove my allegations with documented evidences.” This is to my mind, a direct challenge to his (Samuelson’s) former boss.
Samuelson Iwuoha is not fighting the Executive arm of Government; neither is he fighting the judiciary. He has merely opened can of warms at the legislative arm of Government. The EFCC should be allowed to do its job. Let us focus on the message and not on the messenger, who is an ordinary “Kerosene seller and a Street Urchin.” After all, Goliath under rated little David. Aides must be submissive to their Bosses. Bosses must not under rate and maltreat their Aides. Samuelson has demonstrated candeaur, exceptional boldness and courage and is prepared to face whatever/music.
In conclusion, let nobody including the Government’s media Assistant, bring His Excellency the Governor, into this Samuelson’s Uwajumogu’s.boxing rings championship. A word is enough for men and women of Good will who must search their inner man before clapping for the man who died on the Calvary cross.
