Dr Prince Charles Onuoha former commissioner for Special Duties to Okorocha and his supporters decamp the All Progressive Congress, APC for another party.
The Governorship hopeful come 2015 as we learnt have concluded arrangements for the declaration this week.
According to our source, the former commissioner and chairman of Imo Housing Corporation in the present administration gunning for the Governorship of Imo state under his new party has emphasized that Imo under his administration come 2015 will have a sound synergy between the three arms of government.
Prince Onuoha have earlier said that he will modify most of Okorocha’s policies adding that he will use his banking experience and connection to reduce the over head cost and bring better life to Imolites especially those in the rural areas of the state.
He promised to attract more projects to Imo state and build cottage industries to the rural communities.
Prince Charles is the Ambassador of Mbaise nation and further information revealed that his numerous supporters will be decamping with him any moment from now to join forces elsewhere.
His decision to dump APC as we gathered was because of the Governor’s high handedness and autocratic decisions in the party. “Having zoned APC chairmanship to Mbaise where he comes from.
To thwart Prince Onuoha’s Guber ambition, prominent sons and daughters of Mbaise have vowed to dump APC, some politicians told Trumpeta.
Prince Charles decision to jettison APC from all indication have been considered as a right step in a right direction by some of his followers especially youths.
The botched conduct of the state congress of All Progressive Congress, APC, to elect new Executive Council members has pitched the state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and the national leadership of the party on collision course.
Imo was one of the notable states where the state congress failed to hold. Our correspondent in Abuja disclosed that the inability of the governor as the leader of the party in the state and a major stakeholder in APC in the nation to organize a hitch free state congress last weekend has raised doubts about his competence to steer the affairs of the party in next general elections. Doubts about Okorocha’s ability to direct affairs of the party which came to the fore at the weekend has sent shivers down the spines of APC national leaders in Abuja.
Our correspondent who visited the party’s office at the weekend noted that most of the national leaders are not comfortable with Okorocha’s administrative style and pattern of running the party which it was observed is giving the leaders sleepless night.
Trumpeta learnt that while the party hierarchy in Abuja was trying to over come negative publicity the Imo state arm of APC has attracted in recent times following disaffection from aggrieved members, the state congress could not hold as scheduled.
A top official who does not want his name mentioned said at the national secretariat that APC leaders are worried about developments in Imo APC leading to a botched congress.
The working committee were said to have expressed reservations about the altercation between some aggrieved party leaders in the state with the governor and the inability of the latter to handle the disturbing scenario.
More so, the seeming disagreement and cold war between a prominent leader of the party and national organizing secretary, Senator Osita Izunaso and the governor also attracted the attention of the party leadership who raised suspicion about the capabilities of the governor leading the party in the state.
Trumpeta was reliably informed that following protest from notable party kingpins including the out-of-favour interim state chairman of APC in Imo, nobody has waded into the matter with a view to checkmating the excesses of the state governor.
Meanwhile, fresh facts have emerged reasons why the scheduled Imo State APC congress could not hold and was cancelled last week.
Contrary to speculations that the exercise was merely suspended for undisclosed reasons, Trumpeta can confirm that the state congress was stopped because of the injunction of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC officials who came in as monitors.
Trumpeta learnt that accreditation for the delegates from each of the wards and LAGs, eligible to vote for the state executive began and was successfully conducted under the supervision of state congress committee led by Chief Paul Chukwuma.
INEC officials noted that while it does not interfere in internal affairs of the party, it will not be a party to such exercise when there are public places for such event instead of Government House Owerri.
To avoid playing into the hands of some APC stalwarts who are aggrieved over the manner they are being treated since the commencement of the APC congress, Okorocha’s camp had to succumb to the INEC position to cancel the state congress.
