Emekuku community in Owerri North LGA was agog last Saturday as the masses from different walks of life trooped to Ezeogba hall premises, venue of the declaration ceremony of Hon Bar Tony Umuzurike for the seat of Owerri Federal Constituency in the 2015 election. It was a convergence of political titans in Emekuku and the entire Owerri North local government area as all the stakeholders of the 10 wards of the area and women including youths trooped en masse to witness one of the famous declarations in Owerri North. Presenting his speech, Tony Umezurike (Airierimba) promised qualitative and effective representation if he emerged in 2015. He said his intention to go to the national Assembly is to make sure that the worries of his people were presented at the floor of the national assembly for them to be made national agenda.
Bar Umezurike who is running under the All Progressive Congress APC, said APC will sweep all the votes in Owerri zone in 2015 election, adding that he will make sure that the ecological funds meant for the area would be used and managed judiciously if he wins in 2015. He further announced that he will compliment the efforts of Governor Rochas Okorocha in bringing rapid development in Owerri North and assured the youths and women of the area of empowerment and financial support. All the Ward leaders of APC in Owerri North who graced the occasion, praised Hon Bar Tony Umezurike for accepting to represent his people at the national Assembly. The leaders pronounced him as the best among equals and fit to be the party’s flag bearer for the House of Representatives. The party Chieftains therefore called on Owerri North people and sister communities to vote APC in all the elections and make sure that those they called the evil men do not come back to power. Top government officials, market women, religious groups, youths and other class of people were present at the venue of the declaration, just as the ceremony ended in grand style as gifts were distributed to party loyalists.
