As part of strategic measures to re-engineer the structures of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Imo State, into winning ways in 2015 election, the Imo state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is reeling out mouth-watering offers to members of the party.
Having informed APC stakeholders and members of his executive council intention that he would run for the 2015 Imo governorship election, Okorocha is firing on all cylinders to ensure that he garners enough massive support within party rankings and beyond to retain his position as Imo state governor in 2015.
Apart from charging his lieutenants to permeate the length and breath of the state especially the grassroots, Okorocha is packaging welfare incentives for followers.
The new packages it was gathered was to rubbish the widely held impression that the heis a tight-fisted politician who empowers only family members and relations in the course of discharging his duties as governor. Considering plethora of complaints trailing his approach to aides and those who felicitated his entry into Government House in 2011, Okorocha is changing gear with incentives geared towards informing his followers he is battle-ready to match opponents money-for-money for 2015 governorship in Imo.
To this end, the governor is making available vehicles of different types to party leaders and supporters across the state. The cars ranging from Sienna Toyota models to other categories will be branded with APC and Okorocha’s picture and an inscription “Rochas WE Know 2015”
Those targeted are the various APC chairmen in the 27 LGAs including women and youth leaders that will go home with vehicles. The car spraying jamboree will also be extended to ward chairmen and other levels of officials at the various LGAs.
Trumpeta reliably gathered that the cars have been assembled at Heroes Square and awaiting distribution to beneficiaries. It was later learnt that the last batch of the vehicles will be made available to the receivers when Okorocha formally declares to run for 2015 governor.
