Labour Party Disowns Ikenga . Exonerates self from State Congress

The National Working Committee, NWC of the Labour Party, LP led by Comrade Dr. Mike Omotosho has sent their warning signals to the public and faithful of the party to disregard any purported congress held in Imo State noting that it does not have its backing.

Dr. Omotosho who gave this warning over the weekend while briefing journalists at Oxygen Hotel during his first official tour in Owerri the capital territory of Imo, stated without hedging that Labour party through the grace of God shall produce the next governor of the State come 2019.

He made bold to note that Labour Party which believes in social justice and equity would revisit the party’s manifesto which was documented in 2009, hence the need to update with the current social challenges.

Charging the State Executives of the party led by Comrade John Onyenemere to build structures in order to make the party formidable in the State, ebullient Dr. Omotosho pointed out that the activities of Labour Party is anchored solely in the interest of the masses.

He however called for synergy among leaders and faithful of the party as 2019 Imo Guber draws nearer, noting that youths inclusiveness shall always be the needful of the party.

Also speaking, the party Deputy National Chairman, South, Hon. Calistus Okafor described the former National Working Committee Chairman, Comrade A.A. Salam as a man who neglects the rule of law stressing that Comrade Salam who was indicted by the Police cannot continue to lead the party whereas the Imo State interim executives has also been dissolved after the expiration of their tenure which saw to the emergence of another caretaker committee led by Comrade John Onyenemere.

Chief Philip Iwazuruonye – Organizing Secretary

Opara Eze Prince – Publicity Secretary

Emmanuel Okereke – Youth leader
