Mr. Tony Abili, an astute banker cum successful business mogul has formally declared his intention to contest the election into House of Representatives to represent Ideato federal constituency next year.
Mr .Abili made this declaration last Thursday during his visit to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP Secretariat Owerri where members of PDP State Executive’s gave him and members of his entourage overwhelming reception.
The young and vibrant Abili also pointed out that he decided to seek elective position under the PDP platform to give back to his people.
The Arondizogu born renowned banker whose declaration was followed with endorsement and ovation from party faithfuls present said having worked at the banking sector where he garnered vast experience and excelled to a top managerial position within 15yrs before venturing into private business for 12yrs believes he has the capacity and credibility to give quality representation that will reflect the people collective interest .
He maintained that his federal constituency has suffered from the scourge of under representation and misrepresentation for some years now.
The People’s Democratic Party Chieftain said “I feel that my people have not had quality representation considering what is happening now.
I have come to felicitate, engage with the PDP state Executives and to offer myself as an agent of change especially now when everything seems to be going wrong.
I promised to work with the state executive’s to deliver IMO state for PDP.
What Ideato Nation needs at this point in time is a strong voice that can bring back trust, confidence and hope to our people and bring about turnaround in my Federal constituency.
My first priority if elected as a member of the House of Representatives will be to empowerment of youths because my vision is centre on the people and service. ”
He promised to create jobs for youths, empower the women and the elderly in the constituency and also attract Federal Government projects that will benefit the people.
Also speaking, Bar. Charles Ezekwem, Imo PDP chairman described Obili as a young man with strong followership ,one who has demonstrated that he has the grassroot people with him.
He assured him that there will be a level playing field for all aspirants contesting for any elective position in the party. You have demonstrated capacity and PDP will go for the best.
PDP will not compromise or conspire to giving power against the peoples wish. He averred.
