The immediate past Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Chief Ikedi Ohakim has reacted to a FrontPage publication carried on Trumpeta Newspaper saying that the Ex-Governor was eyeing Social Democratic Party, SDP and may eventually dump the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
However, in a phone chat with Trumpeta, the Okohia, Isiala Mbano born politician said he took an exception to the said publication and insinuation that he was planning to move to SDP to actualize his Governorship ambition come 2019.
Ohakim who was worried that a lot of people drew his attention to the said publication said that he remains a member of PDP any day and therefore called for caution.
The “Clean and Green” exponent disclosed that he has sunk a lot into building PDP, both financially and otherwise for him to now dump the party.
Ohakim maintained that the legion of calls he received over the said publication was an indication that a lot of people have interest in his political activities and vowed not to disappoint those who believe in him.
The former Governor who had declared to run for 2019 Imo Governorship said that he was sure that his teeming supporters have been waiting for his next move, promising that soon Imo State will hear from him in a big way.
Ohakim who has recently become the conscience of Imo State following his constant scrutinization of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s administration opined that nobody can shut him up from speaking against bad leadership especially when it concerns Imo, a State he said he led with sacrifice and human face.
