Failure To Support Governor’s Son In Law Madumere To Resign, Or Face Removal .As Govt Begins Probe of Dep’s Gov Stewardship

Following his insistence to contest the 2019 Imo Governorship election, which jeopardizes Governor Rochas Okorocha’s plot to foist his son inlaw, Chief Uche Nwosu as his successor in office, the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere is now facing probe.

According to impeccable sources, Trumpeta learnt that within weeks, Madumere would be forced to resign from office or be “disgraced” out of office, with allegations of fraud that may dent his reputation.

Trumpeta learnt that among all opponents oppositing his plan to plant Uche Nwosu as the next Governor of Imo State, the particular fellow that worries Okorocha is his Deputy and confidant for over twenty five years, Prince Eze Madumere.

Okorocha has remained shocked that Madumere could rise up to oppose whoever he (Okorocha) brings out as his successor, following the unalloyed loyalty Madumere had committed his relationship with Okorocha these past years.

However, for the first time, Madumere stepped out of his mentor’s shadows and has remained resolute pursuing his ambition to succeed Okorocha in 2019, even though his estranged principal prefers Uche Nwosu.

Having observed that Madumere is not ready to let go of his ambition, Okorocha has now openly declared disdain towards his Deputy, and out to politically cut him down to his size.

One of the moves to whip Madumere into line is to carry out a thorough investigation into his activities as Deputy Governor, including from when he served Okorocha as Chief of Staff.

Trumpeta was told that whatever that is unveiled in the course of the combing, would be used against Madumere to either voluntarily vacate office, or be impeached without delay.

Already, some Agencies supervised by Madumere are under scrutiny, which led to the arrest of some officials now being quizzed by Security Agents.

It is not yet clear if those questioned have sang or indicated the Deputy Governor in their statements.

But sources close to Madumere said that he is not withdrawing from the guber race, no matter the intimidation, and probe cannot be used to cow him.

The source said that Madumere has no fear for investigation, as he has no skeletons in his cupboard, even as he carried out his assignments without blemish.

“Let them probe the Deputy Governor. Even though it is a politically motivated probe and may been bent to favour those who commissioned them, but they will be disappointed in the end because Madumere has clean hands” Trumpeta was told.

However, Trumpeta learnt that this time, those gunning for Madumere will not spear him, because they will not relent until he is sacked by impeachment or forced to resign.

This Newspaper was told that had it not been that Madumere cannot be sacked with instructions just like that, Okorocha would have since thrown out his Deputy.

Meanwhile, Madumere’s camp insist that rather than Okorocha to get angry, it should be Madumere, who felt betrayed after his Boss publicly said he is not capable of being Imo State Governor, after he had served him in various capacities until, he, Okorocha approved his “promotion” to be Deputy Governor.

“So, when did Madumere become so incompetent that he cannot be Governor of Imo State?” The source asked Trumpeta.
