The apex Mbaise socio-cultural organization, Ezuruezu Mbaise Global has waded in to unravel reasons why the chief of Staff to Imo State Government House, Mr Uche Nwosu, does not deserve the much talked about Mbaise title.
The group revealed this in a statement intended to reply to an earlier press release which, allegedly, emanated from the office of Mr Nwosu. The group alleged that the release was signed by one Mrs Vivan Onwuka and was titled, “Mbaise Nation to confer Chieftaincy title on Ugwumba Uche Nwosu”.
Ezuruezu decried the damage the alleged press release was intended to do to the collective image of Mbaise Nation.
“This is shameful, ridiculous, embarrassing and unacceptable”, it stated.
It also stated that Mr Nwosu does not deserve any chieftaincy title in Mbaise nation, emphasizing that the nation only honours those who deserve the honour.
“While our people are not averse to recognizing worthy persons in our society, we wish to state clearly that the proposed candidate has neither been associated with any growth or development project anywhere in Mbaise, nor has made any investment of supported any foundation situated anywhere in Mbaise. Therefore, he cannot be said to deserve Mbaise community collective recognition or endorsement” the statement read.
