The confusion over the position of number two person in the Imo State government will still be cloudy till September as the Owerri High Court fails to relax on earlier order restraining all parties from carrying ahead the impeachment of the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere.

To worsen the position of the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha over the desire to swear in Head of Service, Callistus Ekenze, the judge didn’t vacate the initial order stopping the parties from going ahead with the impeachment which would have cleared the road for the Deputy Governor to come on board.

At the resumed hearing of the matter which came up yesterday, efforts by the Attorney General of the State and Commissioner of Justice, Milletus Nlemadim to have the Judge rescind on early order were futile. The Judge, B. Iheka did not agree to the position of Nlemadim that the order had elapsed as he asked the Attorney General “on what basis?

Trumpeta learnt that the Attorney General has hoped that the trail judge will agree to his request of vacating the order to enable Ekenze be sworn in.

It would be recalled that few hours after the judge gave an order asking the panel of 7 inaugurated by the chief judge of the state to stop further proceedings in their assignment, members of the Imo State House of Assembly quickly moved into the chamber to adopt the report of the 7 man committee which was used to impeach Madumere.

On the day of planned swearing-in, the neglect of the earlier order led to the stoppage of Ekenze’s official engagement as the Deputy Governor.

The matter was adjourned to September 3rd 2018. According to the judge, every other matter will be handled that day.
