The recent election petition by Hon. Henry Nwawuba as the PDP ticket bearer of the Mbaitoli Ikeduru Federal Constituency has been described as a plot to draw Mbaike back.

According to a press statement made available to Trumpeta, the Henry Nwawuba campaign organization HENCO, alleged that the action is coming when the people of Mbaike Federal Constituency are pulling forces together for their upliftment, while expressing disappointment over what they termed a treacherous and an affront on the collective will of PDP authentic delegates freely expressed on October 5, 2018.

The release which was signed by Hon. Chinedu Ekwebelem (SA Media and Publicity) was reacting to the election petition published on The Sun Newspaper of November 19, 2018 by the defeated aspirant to the House of Representative seat of Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, Mrs Ijeoma Ann Nwafor.

It further stated that Mrs Nwafor is merely dancing to the drumbeats of entrenched interests who suffered blooded noses in the last primaries, maintaining that Hon Nwawuba went through the screening exercise and came out in flying colours, and that the results as announced by the chairman of the electoral panel, Hon James Anbua showed that Nwawuba scored 153 votes as against 83 for Mrs Ijeoma.

While joining the teaming population of Mbaike Federal Constituency to condemn in strong terms the act of treachery, they urged the PDP at the National and State level to spell out internal disciplinary action on Mrs Nwafor and her sponsors over what they called clear anti-party activities targeted at jeopardizing chance of the party in the general elections.

They however appealed to the good people of Mbaike and PDP members to join forces with HENCO to maintain a high ground of dignity and resist Nwafor’s provocation in order to deliver a resounding victory for the party at all levels.
