Jubilation as Imo PDP Kick-Off  Campaigns . Vows To Restore Development ,Equity

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo State chapter kicked-off its 2019 general election campaigns yesterday at St Mary’s Catholic Church Ground, Ubommiri, in Mbaitoli LGA, with a mammoth crowd that shook the foundation of the Local Government Area.

The ceremony which was attended by who is- who in Imo PDP, including members from the twenty seven Local Government Areas of the State commenced with a Town Hall meeting, where the Governorship candidate of the party, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha was able to meet in close contacts with the Elites and Stakeholders in the Area, who at the occasion presented to him the priority problems that face Mbaitoli, which the Elders want Ihedioha to tackle when he is voted into office in a few months time.

After listening to the people, Ihedioha assured them that he has the capacity to resolve the said challenges as he is committed to Mbaitoli LGA, where he said he has staunch supporters and sponsors.

The campaign then shifted to St Mary’s Catholic Church play Ground where a tumultuous crowd numbering over Ten thousand welcomed the PDP Governorship candidate and his entourage which include all the candidates of the party across Imo State.

Chief Charles Ezekwem, the Imo State chairman of PDP who welcomed the people asked them to vote for PDP and its candidates in the various elective positions, pointing out that among other political parties in Imo State, it was only PDP that had transparent primaries that produced the  best candidates for Imo people.

He described the PDP Governorship candidate, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, and his Deputy Hon Gerald Irona, as a tested team that will restore the dignity of Imo State, which he said has been battered by the out-going administration in the State.

The Governorship candidate, Emeka Ihedioha, who the crowd could not allow to speak for minutes following the shout of “Our Governor! Our Governor! Our Governor!” that shook the venue, later appealed to Imo PDP followers to not allow the chance of the party producing the next Governor of Imo State elude the party.

“You have a trusted and tested candidate, who has served Nigeria in various capacities and was never found wanting. This is the time to take Imo State to her proper place in Nigeria” Ihedioha said.

He assured that he will not fail the masses, as his motivating factor is to give Imo people quality service that will remain a reference point in the annals of the State.

Ihedioha maintained that he knows the task ahead and have made up his mind to serve Imo people and rebuild the State to the dreams of its founding fathers.

The Governorship candidate appealed to PDP members to close ranks and work as brothers and sisters in making sure that PDP swept the elections in the State.

A former Governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa said that Imo people are tired and waiting for PDP to take over Imo Government in 2019, stressing that PDP has the best Governorship candidate in Nigeria in Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha.

Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Elder Statesman and member of PDP Board of Trustees, BOT urges PDP members to go home to their Wards and work for the party’s victory.
