Why Imo Gov Declared State Of Emergency On Imo Roads

To live up his campaign promises, the Executive Governor of Imo state, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha (CON) has unveiled plans to reconstruct major roads in Imo state.

In a press release made available to Trumpeta, Gov. Ihedioha has declared state of emergency on some major roads which are not only deplorable but death traps

The major roads to be reconstructed according to the release are, Federal Polytechnic road leading to Federal University of Technology, Owerri, the Nekede – Ihiagwa- Obinze road, Assumpta- Control post axis in Owerri, Mgbidi- Oguta road in Mgbidi (Orlu), MCC- Toronto Junction in Owerri, Aba branch- Mbaise road in Ehime Mbano and other roads that will be announced soon.

According to the release, the major roads have been mapped out for standard reconstruction and work on the said road will commence immediately.

Governor Ihedioha in a recent statement assured Imolites that the Rebuild Imo administration will leave no stone unturned in the area of road construction and other infrastructure.

Recall that reconstruction of these roads have previously been embarked on by the past administration, but due to lack of durability, has become deplorable and impassable.
