Apparently disturbed over certain improper developments in the oil producing areas of Imo State, the National President of National Congress of Ohaji youth (NACOY), Comrade Chinonye Emmanuel Ugorji, has pleaded with the leaders of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta to embrace one another, bring development to the zone and proffer solutions to the security challenges in the area.
Speaking recently, the President of the Youths of Ohaji said that many unsavoury events have been unfolding in the oil rich zone of Imo State ranging from character assassinations, insults, political gossip and cheap political goals among the leaders especially in the social media.
According to Comrade Chinonye, these sad developments are propagated by sponsored agents through sponsored publications.
The youth activist wondered why the division among people of the oil producing areas of the state.
“Are we the only local government in Imo state?
Just like the bible injunction, “For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and [a]behaving like mere men? For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal?”
Are you not all for the GOVERNOR?”, he asked.
Speaking further, the NACOY president said “It is high time you shield your swords and think of the Development of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta. Bring the dividends of the shared prosperity project of His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodimma to the oil rich zone.
“Division will only bring us down more. All of you have a part to play. God have a reason for creating you as an indigene of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta and place you all in different ministries.
“Every Thing That Is Allowed To Exist Has A Function To Perform “.
“Let us learn from the conspiracy against our political godfather Sen. Athur Nzeribe. Is it not clear to all of us that there is a secret political war/marginalization against us. They will always use us  to bring our own down .we need to move away from this pull him down syndrome(PHD). Let us go back to memory lane from the days of Sen.Nzeribe till date. We need to be wise. Divided we fall United we stand.
“The silent war and political struggle among our people as regard to ISOPADEC Board is not doing us any good.
Some people are not happy that there is this commission created specifically for us, we should not give them reasons to stand against it as witnessed lately.
“I am therefore calling on all political leaders, House of Rep member, Government appointees, House of Assembly members, Local government Transition chairmen and stakeholders from Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta to shield their sword and champion the development of our zone.
“When two big Elephants fights, it is the grass that suffers it, the general populace of our zone are suffering the negative effects of your cold war.
In the same vain, he charged the youth to stop inheriting other people’s enemies. They should stop insulting their leaders in other to show loyalty to the others. let us make do with what we have.
If they leaders has problems or misunderstandings let them settle at the echelons, we should not get involved.
Youth are soaring high politically in other local government while we remain praise singers for our political lords. He charged the youth to shun all sorts of character assassinations and malign against our leaders.
They youth of the oil rich zone also pleads with his Excellency to constitute the ISOPADEC Board, it is over five months now that you came to power as the Governor of Imo state.
ISOPADEC is an intervention agency.
“There are reasons for its creation and when its objectives are not carried out it becomes needless. And with the recent development in the world (Covid 19 saga) it becomes necessary and important that the board should be constituted to ameliorate the poverty and challenges pose by the pandemic.
“Our people are running out of patience.
The youth of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta will always show its unflinching support to your government”.
