Hon Okechukwu Charles Amajuoyi has been declared the candidate of National Rescue Movement (NRM) primary for Imo North Senatorial District.
He was declared winner yesterday by the Imo State Chairman of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) Dr Mike Nze while fielding questions from journalists in Owerri.
Nze who said there was no room for substitution of candidate in his party insisted that such decision would only amount to disservice to Okigwe people.
Nze who opined that NRM has the best candidate for Okigwe Senate maintained that the party candidate emerged through an indirect primary where all delegates from the six LGA’s participated and four aspirants withdrew for Hon Okechukwu Amajuoyi.
When asked if NRM was one of the 71 INEC deregistered parties, the party chairman said his party, NRM was one of the 18 registered party with head office in Abuja.
“We won election in Zamfara and FCT and we are here in Imo State to win elections. As at today the ruling APC does not have a candidate and may not have one. We are in touch with the youth and women of Okigwe zone and they have all agreed to vote our Party.”
Also speaking, a renowned Estate Manager and Candidate of National Rescue Movement( NRM ) Hon Okechukwu Charles Amajuoyi  said despite the importance of Okigwe Senatorial district in the State , most sections of the zone are bereft of government impact and not even connected by road.
While expressing optimism that NRM would emerge victorious if the forthcoming election was a free and fair, Amajuoyi said the yearnings of his people for effective leadership and representation informed his decision to join the race.
Hon Amajuoyi a Uni-Jos alumna said,”voters in that senatorial district will not be fooled by the affluence of any candidate but their pedigree.
The Mbano born Psychologist said ,”the people are tired of money bags ,APC leaders and their promises adding that any emergency largesse to the area now by any eventual candidate would be collected as a gift and will not be enough to ‘steal’ the voters’ votes,” .
Amajuoyi who was an Ex Lecturer said he has been in politics for over 10yrs promised  that if elected as the senator representing Okigwe Senatorial District ,he would not to only re-invent the wheel of development, but bring his robust private service experience to render better service to Nigerians in general, and his people in particular.
“Amongst others, I will bring meaningful development to Okigwe zone, Leverage copiously on my wealth of experience, to bring change and development to all the six local governments.
