Man Remanded in Prison For Defiling 4 Year Old Girl

A forty two (42) year old man, Mr Patrick Chinedu was yesterday remanded in the Correctional Centre Facility, Owerri, Imo State, on the order of an Owerri Magistrate Court, for defiling a four year old Girl, Chikamso.
Chinedu who hails from Okwelle, Isiala Mbano LGA, but resides in Orji, in Owerri North LGA, all in Imo State, is alleged to have committed the offence on September 10, 2020 at Amaraku, Isiala Mbano LGA.
“That you Patrick Chinedu “m” on the 10th day of September 2020 at Amaraku, Isiala Mbano in Imo State Magisterial District had unlawful carnal knowledge of one Chikamso “F” aged 4 years and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 218 of the criminal code cap “C38” Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2004, as applicable in Imo State” the charge read.
Chinedu was also accused of taking away the little Chikamso and “unlawfully imprisoned one Chikamso in such a manner as to prevent any person entitled to have access to her from discovering the place where is imprisoned”.
The suit with charge No: Ow/FC/28C/2020 was said to be facilitated by an Non Governmental Organization NGO, by name, Empowerment For Women and Youth Initiative, EWAYI belonging to a former First Lady of Imo State, Bar (Mrs) Chioma Ohakim, who was supported by the current Imo First Lady (Mrs) Chioma Uzodinma.
Speaking to Journalists in the court premises in Owerri yesterday, Mrs Ohakim said that she is satisfied that the matter has come to court, and now left for the court to decide, but warned that such act was unacceptable in the society, pointing out that the little Chikamso is a minor and deserves protection and justice.
