Nguru Nwaeke Unity Cup set for kick-off

The maiden Nguru Nwaeke Unity Cup has been slated to kick start on November 17, at the playing ground of the National Sports Commission (NSC) Centre, Nguru in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area.

According to reports reaching ‘Imo Trumpeta’, the tournament which is organized by the Youths of Nguru Community in Aboh Mbaise, is designed to unite the youths of Mbaise and also fetch out the hidden talents in the grass roots.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kenndy Onwunali, the MD of Silver Sports magazine has been appointed the Local Organizing Chairman (LOC) of the Competition.

During the ceremony to kick-off the commencement of the tournament, the Community Chairman, Hon Chinedu Mbaleme who released the statement was full of optimism that the LOC Chairman will do a good job to organize a befitting tournament that will go a long way to promote unity, peace and progress in Nguru.

The LOC Chairman however promised to give his best and also to attract the attention of the media to the competition in order to give it the much needed publicity.

He also revealed that, 5 villages that make up the community will produce 10 teams to complete for the giant trophy.
