“The Imo Forum” Backs Labour Party For Obi’s Presidency •Set To Register 250,000 Voters in Communities

A Non Governmental Organization, under the aegis of  “The Imo Forum” has mobilized a strong base towards the Presidential aspiration of the Labour Party flag bearer, Mr. Peter Obi.

Obi’s Presidential bid got a strong boost over the weekend when “The Imo Forum” declared an unalloyed support for the Labour Party, LP in Imo State.

Making this known to Journalists after a crucial meeting with Peter Obi’s Support Group under the Imo Forum, the National President, Mr. Kenneth Onuoma disclosed that the decision was reached given by Obi’s impeccable character.

It would be recalled that since the agitation for Igbo President commenced, with Peter Obi’s declaration, he had been receiving avalanche of support from both individuals, corporate bodies and Organizations.

Regardless of his dumping the PDP for Labour Party, his fan base increased from 50% to 100%.

Mr. Kenneth Onuoma earlier in a delegation sent to the Imo State Labour Party Secretariat intimated them of the Forum’s desire to rally round Peter Obi for the actualization of the project.

He told the party’s Exco that irrespective of his stance in partisanship, it won’t deter him from identifying with such an extraordinary gentleman like  Peter Obi.

Further speaking, Onuoma who resides in far away Washington DC explained that Obi’s wide acceptance is mind boggling, especially, as other political parties and aspirants are coming together in making the Igboman dream a reality of succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

According to Onuoma, with the Imo Forum membership strength of over twenty thousand, they will go beyond speech making, to getting down to the grassroot.

Also, he promised to deploy all the members of the Forum to their respective communities, so as to send the message of hope to the rural dwellers who are yet to get acquainted with the Peter Obi’s mantra.

Mr. Onuoma who has held sway severally in different positions reeled out some of the footprints of the Imo Forum in the past.

The Imo Forum, in accordance to its objectives is into social, religious, community and humanitarian activities.

Onuoma hinted that thousands of people, with particular reference to the destitute had benefitted from their humanitarian outreach and are still doing more towards ensuring that good governance is enthroned come 2023, hence the support for Peter Obi.

He reassured the Labour Party Chairman and his Exco of his continued support for the advancement of the project.

The State Chairman, Chief Ambrose  Onyekwere commended Onuoma for his deep thoughts in partnering with Labour Party.

He stated that as it stands, the party is ready to go to the field and challenge its opponents knowing how credible her Presidential candidate is.

Chief Onyekwere averred that the call for a better Nigeria should be a collective responsibility, and thereby called on all Igbos, Nigerians to join the Labour Party ship with competent sailor.

In a related development, the Peter Obi’s Support Team had on Sunday, June 12, 2022 reached a consensus to garner more support for Obi.

Part of the resolutions by members of the team was to register no fewer than two hundred and fifty thousand voters from the twenty-seven Council Areas of Imo State.

In order to match their words with action, arrangements are on top gear, as both churches, market places, malls, and schools will also be the catchment areas.

Further enlightening the purpose why the Organization is determined and resolved to back Peter Obi, Chief Kenneth Onuoma said,

“Peter Obi shares our values 100%. We will support him till he is elected to  take over the mantle of Nigeria’s Leadership.

“In tandem with our manifesto, Peter Obi is a voice to the voiceless, a helping hand to the downtrodden, he is also an uncompromising die-hard apostle for good governance. Together, we will rescue Nigeria under Peter Obi’s tenure”.
