The board of the Karate Federation of Nigeria has nominated Idimogu Emmanuel who represented Imo State on wheel chair, K30 category at the recently concluded National Para Sports Festival in Abuja among the athletes to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming 10th Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England this September. 

The secretary of the federation, Mr Meikano Adamu who announced this in a press release, recalled that Idimogu emerged best athlete in the 1st para -national sports festival held in Abuja earlier in April, where the IMO state para karate team emerged victorious with the gold medal for the first time in the history of para karate on wheel chair K30. The para karate team also won silver by Idimogu. 

The karate federation is therefore appealed to Imo government under Senator Hope Uzodimma to assist in sponsoring Idimogu Emmanuel, the first gold medalist in Nigeria to the commonwealth championship , assuring him of the cooperation of the Federation’s President Mr Silas Akara and that of the board members.
