The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo State Chapter has asked the Catholic Church and the Reverend Priests to forgive and forget whatever may have been the misunderstanding between the PDP and the Church.

The appeal was rendered by the State Working Committee of the Party, led by the State Chairman, Chief Eze Duruiheoma (SAN) at St Patrick Catholic Church, Umuneche, Ntu in Ngor Okpala LGA, during the thanksgiving ceremony of the State Publicity Secretary of the Party, Chief Blyden Amajirionwu and family.

Chief Duruiheoma said that, PDP was not admitting nor condemning any body, neither is the party authenticating any incident, but only saying that whoever that was wronged or not, let by-gone be by-gone, as seventy percent of PDP members of Imo State are all Catholics.

The Party Boss however explained that now Imo people have realized and regretted the mistake they made by throwing away the bath water with the body, a decision which he said has produced the hardship ravaging Imo State today.

Duruiheoma maintained that it was unfortunate that just after 2 years, every body is lamenting in Imo, regretting and missing PDP, a party he said has human face and does things with the fear of God and due process, adding that things are now too hard in the state because of a draconian civilian administration that thinks of personal aggrandizement, than the collective good of the masses.

Also speaking, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha told the Catholic Church that to err is human and to forgive is divine, pointing out that the disagreement between the PDP and the Catholic Church in Imo State was orchestrated by the opposition party who made a mountain out of a mole hill, and therefore left bad blood in an incident that would have been handled amicably by all the parties involved and appealed to the Catholic Church to accept PDP’s apology .

Meanwhile, what could be regard as the dramatic andhigh pointof the event was when the member representing Nwangele LGA in the Imo House of Assembly, Hon OZB Ozuruigbo, came out and knelt down before the Altar, asking God to forgive him his transgressions for dumping PDP and joining APGA.

Hon Ozuruigbo who said he has returned to the PDP asked the Chieftains of PDP to accept him back as one of their own, as his eyes has opened.

It would be recalled that Hon Ozuruigbo and other three members of the PDP in the House of Assembly declared for APGA, where Ozuruigbo was made the Chief Whip.

However, the PDP Chairman of Nwangele LGA, Hon Justice told Imo Trumpeta that Ozuruigbo remains an APGA member until he resigns his post as Chief Whip in the House of Assembly, a position he assumed through the platform of APGA.

In attendance at the occasion was who-is-who in Imo. They include, Senator Nwagwu, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, Bar Eze Duruiheoma (SAN), Hon Goodluck Opiah, Hon Eugene Dibiagwu, Hon Emeka Nwofor, Hon Dimaku, Sir George Egu, Chief Iroha (Bekebe), Chief Greg Madu, Chief and Mrs Benji Azike, Chief Chris Asoluka, Chief Emma Nwogu and Engr Umez Eronini.
