The Free Education programme of the Rochas Okorocha Administration has assumed a new dimension, following comments credited to the new Vice-Chancellor of IMSU, Prof Anthony Amuzie over new fees formula introduced by the authorities of the institution.

In a release by the varsity boss, aired on the Orient TV Station at the weekend, he revealed that the Okorocha administration has increased theImoStateUniversityschool fees from N53,000 to N73,000 for old students. New students will get N120,000 and N170,000 for old and new students respectively with the govt paying the sum of N100,000 out of the new fees. For students of Imo State Origin, which is the actual tuition fee which the auxiliary fee of N20,000 will be paid by the students before the govt’s N100,000 will be paid for them, while the new student parts with N50,000 as acceptance fee.

With these singular largesse non indigenes of Imo State and indigenes whose one of the parent is not from Imo will now pay the new fees single handed as the largesse of N100,000 is not applicable to them.

The Orlu born Don, went further to state categorically clear that the free tuition does not in any way stop students from paying other fees such as medical, sports, departmental, faculty, excursion and other relevant dues which book makers send will cost parents not less than 200,000 and N250,000 for each of their old and new undergraduate child per session.

It will be recalled that due to this outrageous fees initiated by the Okorocha free/scholarship the National Association of Imo State Students has threaten to take the govt to court over it.
