It was heap of blessings on the Family of Oguibe of Umuokoro Eziama in the Ngor Okpala Council Area, of Imo State, by the Clergy, Religious and Traditional Leaders, as well as the natives of the area over the building of first ever Chapel of Perpetual Adoration to CKC Church.

One of the sons of the Family, a seasoned financial expert, Mr. Charles Oguibe had in December 2022 laid the foundation stone of the construction of a Chapel to his home Parish, Christ the King Catholic Church, Eziama.

At the event, he promised to get the Chapel completed within a duration of one year, (December 2022-December 2023).

However, the dream became a reality following the official opening/dedication of the magnificent edifice on December 27, 2023 by the Catholic Metropolitan Archbishop of Owerri Archdiocese, His Grace, Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji.

The event commenced with the blessing of the Chapel, and thereafter, a Holy Mass celebrated by the Archbishop at the CKC Church.

Delivering the homily, Archbishop Ugorji explained that the Chapel dedication was part of events earmarked for the 10 years memorial anniversary of the late Patriarch of the Oguibe family, Mr. Livinus Oguibe who he expressed high hopes of resting in the Lord.

Ugorji was delighted that late Livinus Oguibe lived an exemplary life and impacted good morals on his Children who in return toed the right paths.

He continued that those Christian roles has germinated and yielded the good lifestyle seen in Mr. Charles who singlehandedly built and donated a Chapel of Perpetual Adoration for his home Church.

According to Archbishop Ugorji, “Charles Oguibe did not only build a place of worship for God, he has also registered his name in the good books of life, a legacy that would leave for decades.

“The same way Charles built a Chapel of worship in this Church after he was taken to a shrine, was the same way I did when I was at Umuahia and made all manner of people, especially politicians to see it as a place of covenant with God before they could embark on any electoral pursuit”.

Therefore, Ugorji charged the donor not to relent in sowing in God’s vineyard, even as he enjoined the People of God on selfless giving, Charity and strong faith in God.

The Parish Priest of CKC Eziama, Rev Fr. Raymond Onyekwere in his words of acknowledgement thanked the Archbishop for his presence.

Fr. Onyekwere further commended Mr Charles Oguibe and family for the beautiful Chapel of Adoration  built for the Church and asked for God’s blessings, protection on the family.

Speaking to newsmen at his palatial home, Charles Oguibe expressed delight that he was able to build for God.

He added that his source of living and the life he enjoys can only be God, hence won’t withhold anything for the service of God and for humanity.

The ceremony was wrapped up with a Music cantata at Mr. Charles Oguibe’s residence.
