The stage is set for commencement of legal fireworks with respect to the supplementary election case between Okorocha and Ohakim/PDP. The two joined in the pre election suit instituted by Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and Sen. Ifeanyi Ararume against the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) over the Supplementary Election of May 6th in some parts of Imo state which brought the present Imo State Governor to power.
This matter was delayed because INEC and ACN were expected to file their papers in connection with the case which they delayed until this week.
Weekend Trumpeta learnt that the parties INEC and ACN have now filed the necessary papers paving the way for the Supreme Court to announce the date for the hearing to determine whether Ohakim and PDP should be part of the ACN/Ararume suit as joinders.
It will be recalled that the Appeal Court sitting in Owerri some time last year granted Ohakim and PDP opportunity to appeal on the judgment of the lower court on the Ararume suit as an interested parties. This, they did in suit No. CA/333/12 and CA/334/12 respectively.
Okorocha who also joined the suit as an interested party went to the Supreme Court to challenge the appeal court decision.
