Akagburuonye: If Elected Imo Governor, I’ll Industrialise Imo, Teach Imolites How to Fish
……….Hope Rising leader extols Uzodimma, pledges support for Udo Njoku-Andrew
It was an evening of spiritual celebration and thanksgiving at the Restoration Chapel City of David Tabernacle, Ikenegbu, Owerri, last Sunday, as Hon. Herbert Udo Njoku-Andrew marked his birthday in the company of his family members, church leaders, members of Hope Rising for Imolites and other distinguished personalities from within and outside Imo State.
The colourful celebration, which featured worship, praises and thanksgiving, was spiritually charged as the Presiding Bishop of the church, Bishop Joel Njoku-Andrew, and the Resident Pastor, Rev. Princewell Odikanwa, ministered to the congregation and guests with spirit filled sermon.
The celebrant, who serves as Personal Assistant, General Duties, to the National Coordinator of Hope Rising for Imolites, Chief Success Obioma Akagburuonye, expressed joy and gratitude as he danced and worshipped God alongside his wife and children.
While thanking God for His sufficient grace upon his life and family, Udo Njoku-Andrew also appreciated the eminent personalities who honoured his invitation.
He expressed particular gratitude to Akagburuonye for “rediscovering” him, trusting him and demonstrating what he described as a labour of love, assuring the Hope Rising leader of his unwavering loyalty and total dedication to his vision and endeavours.
According to him, “God has graced me enough for giving me somebody who said, if you follow my way, you will never live a life of regret. That man is Chief Success Obioma Akagburuonye, Akaraugo Ndigbo.”
In his remarks, Akagburuonye thanked God for His immense grace upon his life and commended Udo Njoku-Andrew for living a life characterised by gratitude, sacrifice and service to God and humanity.
He urged the guests to cultivate a lifestyle of gratitude, testimonies and thanksgiving, describing them as qualities that draw people closer to God, while assuring the celebrant of his continued support.
The 2027 Imo State governorship hopeful described Udo Njoku-Andrew as a worthy servant of God and humanity, noting that his own daily life has been defined by God’s miraculous goodness and mercy.
Akagburuonye also disclosed that a 40-foot container of medical equipment, reportedly worth over $7.5 million and donated to Hope Rising for Imolites Foundation by the Canadian government, would arrive at his ancestral home in Ogbor-Uvuru on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
He said the medical equipment would be distributed free of charge to selected prime private hospitals across the 27 local government areas of Imo State as part of his philanthropic gestures in helping humanity.
According to him, beneficiaries would be expected to use the equipment judiciously so that the philanthropic gesture could be extended to other deserving privately owned hospitals across the state.
The business icon-turned-political figure reiterated that he is not a “typical Nigerian professional politician,” but a transformer committed to teaching Imolites “how to fish rather than giving them fish.”
Akagburuonye, while appreciating members of Hope Rising for Imolites Foundation for their steadfastness and labour of love, further disclosed that the Canadian government has assured of their philanthropic willingness to establish a collaborative partnership with his administration in the construction and rehabilitation of roads across Imo State if he is given the mandate to govern the State in 2027.
The National Coordinator of Hope Rising for Imolites also urged Imo people to continue praying for Governor Hope Uzodimma and his family, maintaining that the governor genuinely means well for the state.
He described Uzodimma’s emergence as governor as a testimony to the hand of God in the affairs of men, stressing that the governor is “God’s sent.”
Akagburuonye further commended Governor Uzodimma’s Shared Prosperity and 3R administrative agenda, particularly in the areas of road construction and rehabilitation, education, healthcare, security, human-capacity development and socio-economic advancement.
The philanthropist maintained that he was neither intoxicated nor obsessed with political power, stressing that power belongs to God and that, at the appropriate time, God would always identify and anoint His chosen person.
Using Governor Uzodimma as an example, he said: “If God elevates me as Governor of Imo State in 2027, I will develop Imo State beyond people’s expectations. God doesn’t lie; His words are ‘Yes’ and ‘Amen’.
“I will teach Imolites how to fish, and when I get into power, I will give them the instruments to fish. Industrialisation will be my watchword. I passionately hate laziness. My mission and vision in politics is to positively revolutionise Imo State, the land of my ancestral birth.”
He identified what he described as the activities of “professional politicians” as one of the fundamental challenges confronting the nation, arguing that politics should be driven by patriotism, sacrifice and commitments to nation-building.
Akagburuonye also lamented the death of Nneoma Nwafo Amuchie-Akagburuonye, aged 105, whom he described as “ his beloved mother,” saying that she died while still actively serving in God’s vineyard, informing that the burial rites will commence by first week of November, 2026.
He commended the Restoration Chapel City of David Tabernacle, Ikenegbu, Owerri, for its spiritual activities and urged the church not to relent in lifting the standard of worship and service to God.
He also thanked God for the life of his Personal Assistant, General Duties, Herbert Udo Njoku-Andrew, whom he prayed would continue to age gracefully, and described him as hard working good man.
The highlight of the ceremony was the cutting of the celebrant’s two-tier, beautifully decorated birthday cake alongside his wife and eminent personalities, including Barr. Obioma Success Akagburuonye, Hon. Eddy Obinna, Builder Collins Nwoko and his wife, among others.
