Supreme Council Of Igbo Youth Takes FG To Task

Obviously irked by the wanton killing of Igbos in the North and perceived deliberate negative strategies against Ndigbo an apex pan Igbo youth group has convened an emergency meeting of its state co-ordinators where it deliberated on a wide range of problems affecting the south eastern states and Igbo-speaking people of Delta and Rivers states.

The meeting which held at the prestigious Imo Concord Hotel, Owerri after deliberating and analyzing these problems and recent developments came out with a communique condemning the strategic exclusion of Nd igbo in top political hierarchy of the country while tasking the federal government to take urgent steps to remedy this ugly situation, urging that Nd igbo must work together to be able to take their rightful place in the political scheme of Nigeria.

The communique which was jointly signed by the council’s president, Odii David, secretary, Ejiba Ikenna, director of mobilization, Zach Okoronkwo and director of information, Onyi a Sim eon Chukwudi also condemned in very strong terms the menace of Boko Ha ram and urged the federal government to as a matter of urgency come up with definite and lasting solution which would protect lives and property of ndigbo across the country, otherwise Igbo youths would be constrained to come up with counter force which would humble the perpetrators of evil against ndigbo.

On the recent invasion of an Anambra state community by some elements from Kogi state, the council urged the Anambra affected igbo community to maintain peace while it called on the federal government to expedite action in bringing these agents of death to book, adding that Supreme Council of Igbo Youth would not hesitate to step in to defend the people in its own way if the federal government continues to shy away from its responsibilities.

The council commended the level of human capital and infrastructure development in Imo state under governor Okorocha, that the state government has done very well through its free education policy. It also noted that the impeachment process which led to the emergence of a new deputy governor in Imo state was in order and commended the choice of Prince Eze Madumere, MFR as new deputy governor and urged him to endeavour to live up to expectation.
