Ex – international, Ndubuisi Opara the current chairman of YSFON (Eastern Region) and Imo state chapter has been decorated with a special award for his selfless efforts and contribution for the development of sports among the youth especially at the grass root level.

This decoration was made by the National president of YSFON, Alhaji Nasairu Dawuna in conjunction with the Nigeria Navy and the Naval Officer wifes Association at Uyo during the YSFON organized under 13 Naval officers competition in Uyo 2 weeks ago.

It would be recalled that Ndubuisi has been very pivotal and active in initiating developmental and rescue mission oriented competitions among the youths ofImoStateand around the Eastern states under the auspice of YSFON.

The Imo state House of Assembly Speakers cup which has seen two editions, the YSFON organized mock – Champions League  in its 4th edition this year, and several under age – bracket competitions in various cities across the Eastern states are remarkable achievements that have not just kept the youths busy but also helped in enabling the players realize their potentials. It must be mentioned that this programmes also avails the government and well meaning individuals the opportunity to express their obligations to the society and identify areas of social interest.

The Ex – Eagle cement player (Dolphines FC) because of his depth of knowledge in the business of sports was also elected into the Imo state Football Association board were he heads the technical committee and is also the chairman of Ex – footballers association in Imo state.

He is the proprietor of Owerri football club, an Amateur club side in the Nigerian Nation – wide league.
