Do you own a Camry Car? Be careful in Owerri

The fear of thieves is now the beginning of wisdom for Owerri residents who own Camry cars. No day passes in Imo state without cases of Camry cars being stolen from where they were parked, with the owner still in possession of his ignition key.
The “Oil Block” of these Camry robbers is Relief market Owerri, naming ceremonies, Weddings, Burials, School Inter-House sports, including church premises on Sundays.
Penultimate week, the Editor-in-Chief of Trumpeta Mr Henry Ekpe lost his own where it was parked at Relief market. The ignition car is still in his possession till date. A week after, two women lost theirs at same market.
But most saddening was at the graduation ceremony of Christian International primary school which held at The Mall, Aladimma, Owerri last weekend.
Two women who brought their children to the ceremony went home on keke, as their two vehicles, (Camry) were stolen that day despite the tight security at the occasion.
Please, could the police up their ante, and decode how these wicked hoodlums outwit every body in their trade.

George Egu, Jasper Ndubuaku and Double-Speak

Popular side was shocked to read an advertorial in the Newspapers by a certain Group from Okigwe zone condemning the Imo political summit where Owerri zone agitated for equity to allow her produce the next Governor of Imo state in 2015.
The surprise was that two Okigwe sons, Sir Gorge Egu and Hon Jasper Ndubuaku appended their signatures on the Advert.
January this year when Owerri Zone Political Leaders Forum OZPOLF, had their end of year party at Chief Charles Amadi’s residence at New Owerri, both Egu and Ndubuaku spoke on behalf of Okigwe zone, urging Owerri to keep on the fight as the zone was in the right direction to ask for Governorship seat in 2015.
They even said they will support Owerri till the last. Orlu zone was also represented that day.
Do you now see why Popular side was shocked that same men just after four months could sign a document asking that Owerri should allow Okigwe complete its turn in 2015.
This is double-speak at the highest order, and who knows whether they will join Orlu zone when next they speak. Let us

Citizen Samuel Iwuoha Suspended. It is Incredible!

Do you remember Citizen Samuel Iwuoha? If you don’t, he was the guy who turned an Activist over night following his vituperations against the Governor Ikedi Ohakim’s administration in Imo state.
There was nothing he did not accuse the Governor and his administration of then. And did that through the Internet, Radio and Newspapers, which were mostly false, but bought by a gullible populace.
Imo people who were looking for a hero turned Samuelson into a cult figure, as he later gained national prominence by the allegation that the then Governor flogged him at Government House.
It was therefore surprising to many who thought Iwuoha was a “freedom fighter” when he was appointed the Special Adviser (Media) to the Speaker of Imo House of Assembly, Hon Benji Uwajumogu, even though Iwuoha was not a trained Journalist.
Recently in replying to a piece against his principal, he unveiled how he, Prof Protus and late Maximums Uba were “quartered” at Modatel Hotel Owerri for months. By who? Iwuoha is yet to tell Imo people.
But the news now is that despite all his bubuyaya Iwuoha has laterally been sacked by Uwajumogu who gave him three months suspension
Now, what happens to Samuelson and those he destroyed through Black mails to please his masters?
Iwuoha deals on kerosene and said he fell out with Ohakim because he destroyed his Kerosene Tanks. Now that Okorocha is even demolishing Houses, where will Iwuoha place his Kerosene Tanks now assuming he wants to go back to the trade? Popular side is watching Citizen

Okorocha Planting Flowers and grasses? Surprise!

Popular side recently observed that the Adminstration of Governor Rochas Okorocha has started planting flowers and grasses along some major roads in Owerri.
Go to old Ogboisisi, along wethral and Aba Owerri roads and see where structures are being pulled down for foot paths and grasses and flowers.
Could this be true? Same Okorocha who “destroyed” his predecessor Ikedi Ohakim before a mammoth crowed at Odenigbo centre, Assumpta cathedral, Owerri, that Ohakim had nothing to leave as legacy except spending millions of Naira in planting flowers and grasses!
Same Okorocha also accused Ohakim of sending a lot of young men and women to the villages by demolishing their shops in the name of beautifying Owerri.
Unfortunately, today Okorocha is not only demolishing shops, but pulling down three storey Buildings, and the populace who were then condemning Ohakim are shocked for what to say.
Politicians are wonderful people, when they tell you good morning, check your wrist watch before answering them. Na waoh! Just like calling six half a dozen, shebi?
