The Okorocha Dissolved State Exco

Last week Wednesday, the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha announced the dissolution of over 78-man strong Expanded State Executive Council.
The news did not come to many people as a surprise, since the Governor had earlier given the indication that he may send the team packing.
To many political observers, the exercise was a good omen, as it is expected that the out-gone unwieldy large Exco would give room to a very compact group that will pilot the last lap of the Okorocha administration to its final, and result oriented end.
Whether the dissolved Exco lived up to expectation or not is the conjecture left in the hands of Imo populace who stand in good stead to give the score card of the Okorocha two-year sojourn in office.
However, in 2011 when Okorocha was campaigning for votes, he intimated Imo people of his strategy, which would be anchored on a small group of people who will work with him to deliver to goods to the masses, and save cost a large battery of Aides would have cost the state.
But alas! Okorocha went off the promise he made to the electorate by parading the highest number of Aides in the annals of Imo State Executive Council history.
Therefore, now that Okorocha has dissolved his Exco, will he have a rethink in going back to a bloated Executive Council, or shall he reduce it for effective management, monitoring, better productive goals and save cost for Imo people?
However, going by Okorocha’s promises of recent that his new Exco will represent the entire South-East, there is the likelihood that Imo people will be saddled yet again with a plethora of Aides cutting across states like Abia State, where Imo indigenes are sent home from State Civil Service without compensation.
While it is the prerogative of Okorocha to appoint who, or how many Aides as he wishes, he should also realize that as an elected officer, he is managing Imo Fund in trust of the people, and therefore, should exhibit acts that will make the people enjoy their common wealth, through result-oriented Government that should consider the welfare of the people first, than that of the Leader, and a mammoth crowd of Aides.
Imo people expect Okorocha to heed to the demands of the people, which is to live by his words, as there is a pay back time, if his action runs contrary to his preaches.
The structure of the awaited new State Executive Council will tell Imo people, if their Governor has any respect for them, or just gives lip service to their demands.

Nekede, Ihiagwa People Cry Over Bad State Of Road

Roads in Imo are in bad state, causing traffic jam, accidents and sufferings to its users and delaying commercial, academic and social activities. Hence motorists charge high transport fare from passengers. For this reason the people of Nekede: old and new road, Ihiagwa, Eziobodo and others have continued to lament bitterly to the federal and state governments to urgently repair their roads for easy accessibility.
Investigation revealed that the poly FUTO road has been dilapidated over the years due to the government neglect on the welfare of the people. Worse still many feader roads in Emeabiam, Ihiagwa, Eziobodo, Umuchima, no4, 7, 8,9 and 10 bus stop, Umerima, Umuokomuche, Umunkoto, Umudibia, etc, are no go areas.
According to some residents of these areas who spoke on the bad state of roads which the people have been living with for ages revealed that they poses death trap especially when it rains. Sometimes flood barricades their rooms causing a lot of damage and misery to the downtrodden who live in the slum.
They therefore called on the government to do something urgently to save them from perpetual agony.

My Candid Advice To Imo PDP (Peoples Democratic Party)

Sir, I am not a politician but as a bonafide Nigerian citizen, I follow the trend of politics in Nigerian which is the gear that powered the Nigerian Democracy van. My candid advice to PDP stalwarts is to be steadfast on party policies and principles and support faithful candidates who are loyal party supporters. They should stop moving with selfish rolling stones” that move from party to party in other to achieve their selfish ambition of grabbing power at all cost. Whether these party excos like it or not, these “frog jumpers” will buy their support and finally abandon them when they grab power.
Furthermore, your party primaries matter a lot. If you will because of money and selfish interest eliminate GOOD CANDIDATES during primaries. Other parties will gladly open-handedly welcome these rejected “conner stones” and make them their chief conner stone to the detriment of your party. The masses should be your yardstick in measuring the candidature of your political aspirants and not illiterate sycophants who collect money and drum the praises of these candidates.
Please all PDP governorship aspirants should sit together put their cards on the board and knows who is the best amongst them and support him or her for the interest of the party. I am not judging but from all indication, Hon Bethel N. Amadi if he is interested in Imo Governorship should be the best PDP candidate. OZOPOLF and OPF take note.
