The Traditional Ruler of Ogboro autonomous Community in Ngor Okpala LGA of Imo state, Eze Fredrick Nwachukwu, has dismissed the allegation that he was involved in the kidnap of one Bathran Nwosu from Akokwa in Ideato North.

Speaking to newsmen on Friday at his palace, he posited that the alleged kidnapper had been known for criminal activities before, affirming that the suspect’s mother died some decades ago when she was told that her son, this particular Chucks Jeremiah Erim committed the act of stealing.

Eze Fredrick wondered why he would be fingered as the mastermind of the unholy act and challenged anyone who asserts that he saw him around the kidnap scene to bring his evidence.

The Traditional Ruler maintained that the suspect who is now at large was asked to keep away from any property that belonged to his family, having caused his mother’s death, but was later pardoned.

He said that he was at the clinic on 4th of June, when he received a call, informing him that Mr. Chuk’s house had been a den of kidnappers.  “I was at the Clinic in the town of Owerri on 4th June, 2012 when I received a call and later I went back to the village.  I was surprised when they told me that Mr. Chuks Jeremiah Erim’s house is a den for kidnapped victims.  I was also told that a kidnapped man escaped from there and came back with police.  Chuks called me from his hiding place and told me that he was not involved in the matter.  He mentioned one Akikpo and three others.  Immediately I called the T.C Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA and he advised me to report the matter to the police.  The police came to the scene of the crime and made some arrests the Traditional Ruler said.

Eze Fredrick however disclosed that ever since he was made traditional ruler of Ogboro, those he described as enemies had been fighting him.

It would be re – called that Mr. Bathran Nwosu was kidnapped this month along FUTO junction in Owerri North LGA.
