Senator Uzodinma Fingered

Subsidy Reinvestment Programme, SURE-P, set-up by the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration after the massive demonstration that shook the foundation of Nigeria, in 2012, is generating another problem in Imo state following disagreements in the appointment of Zonal Coordinators in the state.
According to information available to Trumpeta, the three Political Zones of Imo state, namely Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu are supposed to have Coordinators appointed from the Zones.
It was learnt that while the Ward Coordinators report to the LGA Coordinators, they will report to the Zonal Coordinators, who will in turn report to the State Zonal Coordinators.
However, the three Zones have Coordinators, but the problem now is that two out of the three Zonal Coordinators are of Owerri Zone extraction.
Okigwe Zone has Lady Princess as Coordinator, Owerri Zone has Chief Emeka Emereole as Coordinator, while Chief Don C Njoku who hails from Owerri Zone was posted to over-see Orlu Zone, which has attracted fierce criticisms from Orlu Zone.
Speaking to Trumpeta, the State Coordinator of SURE-P, Hon Jasper Ndubuaku confirmed the situation, but described it as a dilemma that has confronted his office without a solution, unless from Abuja Office, which posted the Coordinators.
He said he has been trying to effect the correction to no avail, adding that he will continue to try.
Trumpeta learnt that the designated Orlu Zone Coordinator was a former Council Boss of Orlu LGA, but political opponents thwarted the posting and instead handed it to a candidate from Owerri Zone.
A source told Trumpeta that only Senator Hope Uzodinma can change the situation now in Orlu, as he is described as the power behind SURE-P in Orlu, as most of the Coordinators in the LGAs and Wards in the zone are his foot soldiers.
“Senator Hope Uzodinma should be held responsible for this logjam that has denied Orlu Zone their right. So, let him correct it” a source told Trumpeta.
