Not less than three persons have been killed in a renewed intra-community hostilities involving two factional youth groups in Obiakpu, Egbema, in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo.
The dead persons include a youth president who was killed by Cult groups during a reprisal attack.
Details of the incident is still emerging as at the time of this report but eye witness account disclosed that two rival Cult groups, (names withheld) are at each other’s throat over control of the youth body.
Trumpeta learnt that the inability of the Caretaker Committee of community youth to give way to election resulted to the bloody fracas that claimed lives.
To cause confusion and stop forthcoming youth election in Ukwugba, Obiakpu, some youths allegedly attacked another group where one person was reported dead. In vengeance, the cult members of the victim retaliated and deaths occurred again.
Meanwhile, the community is deserted as youths have fled the area for fear of reprisal attacks from the warring factions.
