
Renowned Singer Dame Chinwe Kalu Ogba, a distinctive unique soprano vocalist popularly known for her “Eneneb’ejegholu”, was recently conferred with an award of honour for her contribution to music in Nigeria by Conference of Music Educators in Nigeria (COMEN) at the auditorium of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education (AIFCE), Owerri, Imo state.
Speaking to newsmen, Dame Chinwe Kalu Ogba expressed her profound joy for being honored by those whom she described as professionals in the field, in addition she said she feel blessed being it the first time such an event will be hosted in the entire south-east.
Dame Chinwe Kalu Ogba noted that music is one all embracing subject which develops, informs and Improves character of an individual, stressing that in all spheres of life music is involved, describing music as life she said, “all things shall perish from the earth but music alone shall survive, music was in the heavens even before we are created”.
Pointing-out that music have not given her so much money, she noted that the profession has earned her enormous recognition, as she said she will release her album in due time and thanked her family for being supportive as though her children are good singers too.
State director of the National Orientation agency in Anambara state, Dr. Obi Elemuo said that he was delighted to witness his elder sister being honoured by COMEN noting that Dame Chinwe Kalu Ogba has done a lot for music which has brought joy to the family which he said was due to her hard-work and steadfastness.
