They seem to be a worthy answer to the incessant demands by fans and lovers of Heartland Football Club of Owerri, over the clubs inactive attitude since after their instant return back to NPFL.
This is following the sharing news of the clubs intention to participate in an 8-team tournament for clubs in the South East/South South even as rumour suggests the event was originally slated for Owerri before the organizers decided against the dilapidated nature of Dan Anyiam Stadium.
The maiden edition of the South East/South South Preseason football tournament will kick off at the FC Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium, Nnewi this weekend.
In a release signed by Patrick Ngwaogu on behalf of the Organizers, the participating teams will include Rangers International of Enugu, Inter FC of Enugu, Abia Warriors of Umuahia, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Rivers Utd of Port Harcourt, Cynosure FC of Port Harcourt, Akwa United of Uyo and Heartland FC of Owerri.
The competition which is expected to run from Saturday December 2 to Friday December 8 according to the organizers is aimed at ensuring that teams from the zones prepare adequately for the 2017 /2018 Nigeria Professional Football League Season.
