The Imo State Police command, Owerri has concluded plans to withdraw un – fit sports men and women in their sports unit back to the office.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Felix Kagha, a CAF/FIFA instructor stated this in Dan Anyiam on Saturday during an endurance training program designed to verify the sports men and women who are no longer fit to carry on in their sporting activities.
He further stated that officers who are not active in the sports department will be withdrawn back to the office at the end of the exercise.
Kagha also reiterated the need to revolutionalize sports especially in the police force adding that even with the recent support given by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubarka, it becomes necessary that only fit officers are used in our sports activities and competitions.
It would be recalled that the state Police Machine Football team has been doing well in various competitions they participate in while the police contingent team at the zonal sports event in Umuahia came back with a good result.
He finally promised to use the exercise in keeping the officers always ready to represent the police force very well and win medals in all competitions.
