The Chief Dr Charles Okpe Unity soccer championship for villages in Orogwe, Owerri West has ended in grand style.
The excruciating finals saw Amato Fc beat Ubah Fc 3-0. Both teams had ended the full and extra time goalless before zeroing into penalties.
In a goodwill message he sent through the State Director of Sports Sir Ferdinand Emeana, who also came with a Coach, the State Commissioner for Sports, Hon Emeka Okoronkwo commended the trophy for organizing the competition which will help fish out talents in the area.
Hon Okoronkwo then assured that all discovered talents would be harnessed to the benefit of the State.
Also speaking, a guest and Community leader, Sir Barr CJ Ihemedu lauded the essence of such competitions especially during the yuletide which he said diverts the thinking of the youths to positivity.
Presenting the trophy, the donor, Chief Dr Charles Okpe thanked the youths for comporting themselves throughout the competition and promised to continue hosting the championship as long as there was life.
