As Oru East natives have continued to celebrate the last Saturday’s re-election victory of Hon Chigozie Nwaneri, the Lawmaker on his own has expressed gratitude to them for the support and mandate given him to continue being their representative at the Imo State Legislative House.
Hon Chigozie Nwaneri polled a total number of 30,676 votes to defeat his rivals at the March 18, 2023 House of Assembly election.
His declaration as a winner under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has extended beyond the nook and cranny of Oru East Local Government Area to the globe.
Reason being that in the history of the LGA, no House of Assembly Member from the area has had the privilege of going twice.
Breaking the long aged jinx however ignited the wild jubilation, especially among APC family, constituents, friends and families.
As part of the celebration, goodwill messages on both print and social media platforms have continued to troll in.
In reciprocity to the show of support and votes garnered at the polls, Hon Chigozie Nwaneri has thanked them for remaining steadfast with him before, during and after the election.
He assured them that his second tenure will be totally different from his first tenure.
Nwaneri submitted that he will not only give them an effective representation, but will champion their course at all sphere.
The Chief Whip of the present 9th House promised to introduce a townhall meeting in the LGA, where they will chart a way forward for the welfare of ndi Oru East.
In a special way, Hon Chigozie Nwaneri sent an unalloyed gratitude to the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma for being a father and Leader, whose support in Campaigning for the victory of the APC in Imo State cannot be overemphasized.
The thank you message which read in parts say,
“My dear good and blessed people of Oru East, I salute you all. Again, with your massive support, we have made history together by electing me to represent us in the Imo State House of Assembly for the second time. I will never take this golden mandate for granted. I shall double my commitment to the service of our fatherland and in the best interest of Oru East. You have proved your trust/faith in me as your legislature and in return, you shall get excellent law-making and attraction of more government projects.
“I thank our dear Leader, Son, and Brother, The Governor, His Excellency, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodinma for his unwavering support and I pledge my unflinching loyalty to him for the good of Oru East. I want to thank our brothers that contested with me. Today, I have emerged winner, the next 4 years, it could be you or anyone else. Please let us join hands together and make Oru East a Better Place. Thank you. God bless us all. God bless Oru East, Oru East Must Be Great Again”.

PDP Stakeholders’ Meeting: Anyanwu Denies Leaving PDP, … Rekindles Hope of Party Members, Empowers Ward, LGA, State Exco with over 150m The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has denied rumour that he was leaving the Peoples Democratic Party, assuring party members that he would remain in the party even if everyone leaves. “Do not be deceived, confused or misled by anyone, I am in PDP and will remain in the party until our mandate is achieved. Take note that ADC or APP will never win any election in Imo state and Nigeria at large. Anyone deceiving you or spreading falsehood that PDP is dead is only suffering from schizophrenia” “It’s only in PDP that you can find matured party members, our party is like the old NPP where it regarded human beings. Those who claim to be members and leaders of ruling party are finding it difficult to feed, but in PDP, we are feeding well even when we are not in power” Anyanwu made this declaration on Wednesday while addressing members during the New Year Special Stakeholders meeting at party secretariate, Owerri. Accordingly, Anyanwu, in appreciation of the dedication of party members, stakeholders, ward, LGA and State Exco lavishly rewarded them with gift items valued over 150m tagged; “New Year Unity Gift” Adding further, Senator Anyanwu expressed delight that despite minor internal wrangling that almost derailed the vision of PDP few months ago, party members in the state remained dedicated and steadfast with the party. According to him, the trailer load of over 1000 bags of rice and other items to blend it were not to induce them, but to appreciate are them for working for the party in the state. He reiterated the need for all hands to be on deck towards building a viable and formidable political party in the state, adding that those stagging a gang up against PDP in Imo State and Nigeria do not have what it takes to dislodge the party in any contest. He called on party leaders, critical stakeholders and members across the 305 wards in the state not to be deterred or allow political shenanigans of unstable politicians to distract them from working for the party. In attendance include, the 27 LGA Chairmen, women leaders, youth leaders, State Working Committee, Southeast leaders, former LGA Chairmanship candidates, stakeholders, critical leaders and special citizens, among others.
