2027 Poll: Imo Indigenes in Diaspora Tip Anyanwu for Governor
Ahead of 2027 Imo Governorship election, indigenes of the state in diaspora in collaboration with “Friends of Samdaddy” have activated various angles in support of the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, adding that he remains the only better alternative for the state.
In a strategic move to mobilize over three million Imo citizens in diaspora, friends of Senator Anyanwu have concluded all plans to host a major Imo State 2026 Diaspora Engagement in London, bringing together members of the Imo community in the United Kingdom for an interactive conversation on the future of the state.
The engagement, themed “Repositioning Imo: A New Covenant with the Diaspora,” is expected to provide a platform for meaningful discussions on governance, development, diaspora participation and the role of Imo indigenes living outside the country in the advancement of the state.
The event will feature an interactive session with the PDP National Scribe, Senator Anyanwu, where participants would have the opportunity to engage directly with him, exchange ideas and discuss issues affecting Imo State and its people.
The organisers believe that the Imo diaspora remains an important partner in the development process of the state, particularly through investment, professional expertise, innovation, community development and constructive engagement with government and political stakeholders.
The London engagement is therefore positioned not merely as a political gathering, but as an avenue for dialogue and stronger connections between Imo State and its growing diaspora community.
According to organizers of the event, the programme would hold on Saturday, September 12, 2026 in London, and vowed to use the medium to present Senator Anyanwu as their Frontline Governorship choice in the next year’s election.
The organizers further invites Imo indigenes, stakeholders, professionals, community leaders and other interested members of the diaspora to participate in the engagement and contribute their perspectives toward building a better and more prosperous Imo State.
The organisers are also encouraging interested participants to make use of the all contacts provided on the event flyer ahead of the programme.
With the theme “Repositioning Imo: A New Covenant with the Diaspora,” expectations are high that the London engagement will generate fresh ideas, strengthen diaspora participation and open a new vista of development in conversations about the future of Imo State.
